Since 1999 the CESV Trainers (formerly TVMRU & 112 Volunteers) have participated in training the following organisations within the TRNC :- This training came about by having an invitation from the founding President of the TRNC Mr R. Dentas and we have served all the Governments since then and are proud and happy to be associated with making the TRNC a more secure and safer place to live for all members of the community. Undertook with Dr Avci and Dr Kenan Arifogle the re training and equiping the 112 Emergency Service - this is ongoing. Turkish Army at Bodrum Bodrum Intrnational Yacht Regatta (This we have been doing since 1989) Prior to the opening of Bodrum International Airport trained all the security,fire and medical staff Businesses:- Viva Casino / Nut Company Ercan / Lawyers Girne / British Residence Society/ Dome Hotel Emergency Services:- Police / Fire / Ambulance Drivers & Paramedics (Twice yearly ) also continual Profesional Development Training Trained Trainers for the Ministry of Health in First Aid and Pre-Hospital Energency Care . Near East University (Dental Facualty) and Nurses Training School (ongoing) Made and Directed 17 programmes for (BRT) for persons in TRNC – Turkish language section
Training Residents of TRNC in basic First aid (ongoing) Undertook pilot training programme for Schools – Esentepe Primary and Sunny Lane Schools. These were taught to UK OFSTED approved standard. Civilian Emergency Service Volunteers (CESV).
This organisation which is the operational part of the TKOD(Emergency Service Branch) was formed at the request of the Civil Defence Organisation KKTC to provide a trained reserve to be called upon in times of natural or man made disasters or other related incidents e.g land slip.flooding. At present there are four teams deployed one east and two west of Girne and a headquarters unit and training team.
The volunteers undergo and extensive training programe which grades them First Responder,Emeregency Medical Technician 1 - 3 also undertake training with the civl defence and fire service. The teams train to a very high standard in conjunction with the statutory services and regular undertake joint training exercises. CESV is also registered with the Association of First Aiders(UK) and as such can conduct examinations and authorise certificates to the same standard as the UK Health and Safety Executive standard. Functions we have been in attendance for first aid duties :- Pumas Rugby Cancer Charity Functions St Andrews Church functions Tarkan Concert (Viva Casino) Respect for speed (Nicosia International Airport and Savoy Hotel Girne) Two treasure hunts 1 with cars the other persons walking SOS charity night amphi-theatre Girne Bodrum International Yachting Regatta Bodrum Turkey Various Charity evening events at the Ampitheatre Girne GAU University opening of new Laboratory Flower show in Ozenkoy Motor Cycle Rally at Alsancak IN 2008 CESV’s also attended:-
Four large fires ( 3 were woodland/forest. 1 was a block of flats ) Many road accidents Training with the TRNC Civil Defence in urban and rural rescue Local dwellings to deal with accidents & heart attacks,animal bites etc., Fly pass Girne there mainly for the Presidents of Turkey and the TRNC Administered nursing aid to persons whom could not attend hospital ( changed dressings etc) Girne Castle collapsed person So far in 2009 CESV has done: Completed training to EMT(2) standard 15 persons , started training a First Responder Group Established five teams of members in various locations on the North coast Gave instruction in emergency aid course to ninety student nurses and thirty doctors and dental surgeons Started a new associate group withing the nursing school with a caucus of fifteen students We are looking for volunteers with or without skills as full training will be given.
